Modern NYC Flat
This stylish Manhattan apartment is a beautifully rich palette of natural woods and pristine surfaces. This renovation is a four bedroom, three bathroom combination. The goals of this renovation are to open up the living area of the apartment and create a fluid space between the two apartments. The gorgeous kitchen faces the mid-century modern dining room and living room. The combination of the two apartments was tricky and it was important to establish a creative way to bring privacy to the Master bedroom and hidden office space beyond. The stunning floor-to-ceiling oak feature wall provides both hidden storage, a bar, as well as concealing the door to the Master suite and work area beyond. The rich waxed oak wood of the kitchen fits in perfectly with the feature wall and warm palette of the apartment finishes. The apartment is designed and furnished in mid-century modern combined with simple contemporary pieces. The family has a beautiful art collection and special niches were created throughout the apartment to highlight these pieces. The back hallway leads to the private bedrooms and bathrooms of the couple’s three daughters.
